Betcom Placing Wagers, Straight Bet
Placing wagers on
sports books are varied. The most common
sports betting wager is a straight, that’s when a
gambler is
placing wagers on a single
sports book game. One
sports book team is typically favored over another by a point spread; the favorite
sports book team gives the underdog points as a head start, for
betting purposes only. The favorite is always indicated by a minus sign (-3) and the underdog by a plus sign (+3). The amount of points a
gambler must give or take is estimated to be the amount which will generate equal
wagering on both the underdog and the favorite. For
betting purposes, the result of the
sports book game is determined by taking the actual score and subtracting points from the favorite's score or adding points to the underdog's score. So, a favorite can win the
sports book game but lose it for
betting purposes and an underdog can lose the game but win it for
betting purposes.
Betcom Placing Wagers on Totals
A
Betcom sports betting gambler can place a
wager on whether the combined number of points or goals scored by the two
sportsbook teams in the
sports book game will be over or under the total set by the odds maker. For example, if the total is 42 and the
gambler believes that the combined points scored by the two
sportsbook teams will exceed that number, the
gambler would
bet over. The
gambler would
bet under if the
gambler believes the total points score will be less than 42.
Betcom Placing Wagers on the Money Line
Betcom offers a
bet on a match up between two
sports book teams, which may be set by a money line instead of a point spread. If a matchup is determined by a money line, like Major League Baseball,
MLB sportsbook then it will cost the
Betcom gambler more to
wager on the favorite.
Betcom Placing Wagers, Exotic Sportsbook Wagers
Betcom Parlay Wagers
A parlay is a
bet on 2 or more
sports book teams or selections. The
Betcom gambler can combine different
sports books, pointspreads and money lines. In a parlay the
gamblers original stake (
bet) and winnings are re-invested on the next
sports book game and all selections must be correct - one loss and the
gamblers parlay loses. In the event of a push (tie),
sportsbook game cancellation or a pitcher that the
gambler has specified not starting, the parlay reduces to the next lower number, e.g. a 4-
sportsbook team parlay becomes 3-
sportsbook teams. A winning parlay
wager will pay many times more than the initial
wager.
Betcom Teasers Wagers
A Teaser is a
bet on 2 or more
sportsbook teams or selections. The difference between a teaser and a parlay is that in a teaser the
gambler adjusts (tease) the line in the
gamblers favor. Any loss on a teaser
bet constitutes a loss on the entire
wager. A tie, or push in a three or more team teaser will reduce the
wager to the next lowest level.
In
sportsbook baseball teasers any ties or pushes are consider a loss, and listed pitchers must start. In the event that a listed pitcher fails to start the teaser will reduce to the next lowest level, on a 2 team teaser your
wager is refunded.
Betcom Future Wagers
A future
bet is a
wager on an event or outcome that will be determined sometime in the future. For Example, it might be a
bet made at the start of the season on Dallas Cowboys to win the
sportsbook Super Bowl. Futures odds change continuously throughout the season – The
gambler receives the odds at the time the
gambler is
placing wagers. Futures
bets often attract (high) odds to the
gambler.
Betcom Placing Wagers on If – Win (Single Action)
An If-Win Only
wager is also an excellent choice for money management. The
Betcom gambler placing wagers,
gambles a fixed amount on one
sportsbook team if that team wins the
sports betting game only, then another fixed amount, up to the original amount shall be placed on the
gamblers next
sportsbook team. The
gamblers first
wager must win in order for that
gambler to have action on the remaining
wagers. If the first
wager loses, there is No Action thereafter. A
gambler cannot have duplicate
sports betting teams in the same If Win
wager.
Betcom Placing Wagers on Reverses
A Reverse
wager is the same as two Double Action "if" Bets. If
wager A wins, the
bet goes to
wager B. If B wins, the
bet goes to
wager A. If
wager A loses, the
bet does not go to
wager B. If
wager B loses, the
bet does not go to
wager A. If
wager A wins, the
bet goes to
wager B and if
wager B loses, the
bet does not go to
wager A. Standard reverse bets are Double Action; therefore in the event of a tie/rainout/cancellation the
bet is still active.
Betcom Placing Wagers on Buying Points
A
Betcom gambler can move a pointspread up to three points in that
gamblers favor. The
Betcom gambler must pay an extra 10% for each half point that the line is moved. When a
gambler is buying points on or off the pointspread of 3 there is an additional 25% vigorish. i.e. the
gambler risks $135 to win $100. When buying points on or off the pointspread of 7 there is an additional 15% vigorish. i.e. the
gambler risks $125 to win $100. Points cannot be bought on money lines, 1st/2nd halves, or propositional
wagers.
Betcom Placing Wagers on Round Robins
A Round Robin
wager is a time saving
bet for the parlay lover. A Round Robin is simply a series of parlays. If for example a
gambler has 8
sportsbook teams they liked, and wanted to make every combination in a 2
sportsbook sports betting team parlay, the
gambler would have to enter 28 two
sportsbook team parlays....Or select their 8 teams, and click Round Robin by 2's.
